Discover the art of gaiwan & Gong Fu Cha
Gaiwan & Gong Fu Cha are an important part of traditional Chinese tea culture - a refined way of brewing tea that places attention, precision and flavour at the centre. A gaiwan, a bowl with a lid and saucer, is used to prepare tea with a relatively large amount of tea leaves and short, successive infusions. Gong Fu Cha refers to a traditional Chinese way of brewing tea in which attention, precision and multiple short infusions are central.
Why choose a gaiwan?
- Different materials: Our collection includes gaiwans made from porcelain, glass and stoneware, among other materials, each with its own appearance and properties during brewing.
- Ideal for multiple infusions: A gaiwan is particularly suitable for teas that can be steeped several times. Its spacious shape gives the tea leaves enough room to unfurl during brewing.
- Experience tea mindfully: By lifting the lid during brewing, you can enjoy the aroma of the tea and follow the development of the tea leaves, colour and aromas from one infusion to the next.
