Kabusecha Saemidori First Flush - Japanese green tea

Kabusecha Saemidori First Flush is a high-quality Japanese green tea made from the prized Saemidori cultivar. Before harvesting, the tea plants are temporarily shaded. With less sunlight, the leaves develop the full, gentle character and pronounced umami for which Kabusecha is known.

The flavor profile is fresh, soft and full of umami, with a natural sweetness and delicate vegetal notes. The Saemidori cultivar is known for its refined character and fresh green aromas, which come through beautifully in this early harvest.

In terms of shading and flavor, Kabusecha falls between classic Sencha and the more heavily shaded Gyokuro. After harvesting, the leaves are heated with steam to quickly stop oxidation and preserve their fresh character. An elegant Japanese green tea for those who appreciate umami, freshness and gentle natural sweetness.
