Big Red Robe Oolong Tea - character and origin from Fujian
Big Red Robe oolong tea is a distinctive oolong tea from the Wuyi Mountains in Fujian, China. Big Red Robe, also known as Da Hong Pao, is one of the well-known Wuyi rock oolongs and produces a clear golden to orange-coloured infusion.
Its flavour profile is roasted and nutty, with a full and layered taste. Warm roasted nuances are complemented by nutty notes, a subtle natural sweetness and a long, aromatic finish.
Da Hong Pao is one of the traditional Yan Cha, or rock oolongs, from the mountainous Wuyishan region of Fujian. The combination of partial oxidation and roasting gives this oolong its deep, complex and distinctive character.
